Whilst our non invasive test only requires a blood draw from the arm of the mother, other invasive tests (like amniocentesis) require a medical surgeon to extract the baby’s DNA from inside the womb using sterile needles (as happens in amniocentesis and CVS) or a catheter (as happens in CVS only).
